Food was great, 10/10 love it. Only problem with this place is the order is never ready on time. Ordered three times in a row for pick up and every time there's a delay. Last time I ordered on the app it said it'll be ready in 20 minutes, and I showed a little after 20 minutes and they told me still needs about 10 minutes for it to be ready, despite there being no other people or orders before mine.

I figured it was time I give this place a try. The Good: I was pleased with the shawarma as well as the lamb, and my wife thought her falafel dish and fried cauliflower was on point. The place is clean, there's decent seating, and the menu is well thought out with a decent amount of mix and match options. The Bad: It took just short of 40 minutes for our order, folk came and went after us (no exaggeration). If an order is going to take that long it would be ideal if the staff gave us a heads up and/or just a bit of update along the way. If you plan to try this place I'd highly recommend that you order it ahead of time and take your time driving over. That said though, the food was good, but I'd be worried to try and eat here for lunch or any situation where you may be on a timeline. ;)

I've had people tell me this is their favorite shawarma in all Orange County, so I had to give it a try. It exceeded expectations in some ways, but not all. In terms of the shawarma itself, I thought the shawarma was fine, but there are several other places in Anaheim I prefer. I had both the chicken and the beef shawarma sandwiches at Abu Omar, and neither quite blew me away. The sandwiches are much saucier than my ideal shawarma. The sandwiches are longer and narrower than a typical shawarma; they over-rely on sauce for flavor (in my opinion, at least); and the sandwiches don't really have much in the way of vegetables (my favorite shawarmas have parsley, pickled turnips, onions, and tomatoes, whereas I don't think the shawarmas here have any of these goodies). The shawarmas reminded me a lot of the shawarma at Rotana Elsham -- if you google it, you'll see a lot of people call the shawarma at Rotana Elsham (a food truck in Santa Ana) their favorite shawarma. So, I recognize this is a style of shawarma many people love; it's just not my favorite style of shawarma. In other respects, this place was amazing. It's the cleanest and most organized casual shawarma place I've ever seen. And the packaging of the sandwiches is really cool. It feels like you're unwrapping a gift when you're opening your shawarma. I also love how open this place is about being halal. It's in the store's title, and it's all over the door before you even walk in. This is really important to me, and I loved how proud they are to be halal. Overall, I'm glad I checked this place out, and again, I know people who say this is their favorite shawarma spot, so it's worth a shot.

No one answers phone and erratic opening hours. Plus always get message, "not taking orders at this time" WTH Food is wonderful as always. I told my wife how great the presentation and packing was for the wrap (that was the second reason that drew me there). So when I went back I was surprised that my sandwich wasn't placed in the nice hard pack. Hopefully next time.

With a variety of meat options to choose from, every bite is a flavor explosion. While the space may be a bit snug, the generous portions and mouthwatering shawarmas served family-style more than make up for it. Plus, who can resist a whole ton of fries to accompany your meal? If you're craving delicious Middle Eastern fare, Abu Omar Halal is the place to be!

Got this to-go /delivery recently and it was SO good. Gyro over rice platter, but both pretty solid -- 5 if you ask me for the gyro -- 4 since rice platter was good but did not think the kabob meat was exceptional Lamb over chicken in my opinion, but that's preference and honestly both were so good This place was better than Naz's halal that we ordered a few days later on uber. Such a hidden gem - can't wait to order from here again Can't speak to the store because ordered delivery. It arrived super fast!
